On the nut of my Suhr (black Tusq) I use some graphite powder mixed with some Big Bends Nut Sauce. (speaking of dirty).....to use Nut sauce from some guy called Big Just refill your empty Big Bends Nut Sauce syringe with Vaseline. I use it every time I change strings, which is generally every couple weeks on two guitars, on both the nut and bridge saddles, and one "needle" lasts me a couple of years. I got some Vaseline and mixed in some graphite powder and put it where the strings make contact with the saddles and it stays in tune remarkably well, although I don't go nuts on the whammy either. But if the overwhelming reaction is that Big Bens Nut Sauce is totally worth the money and works better then anything I'll definitely consider it. The cost of Nut Sauce is ridiculous, and I think it's mostly (if not all) Vaseline. Hi All, Hopefully someone can help me here. If vaseline or chapstick in the nut grooves would help I'd rather do that then order a 15 dollar bottle of lube. It Easy to apply with no mess using the Groove-Luber Improves overall performance of ALL stringed instruments! Since there are many different applications for Nut Sauce on different instruments this is a hard question to answer, but if it's only applied to the nut and bridge, at a minimum you should get 50 complete string changes from a Lil I used to use carmex till my teenager stole my little jar of it. I use Big Bends Nut Sauce, I like it, good name too because we bend strings and such. I have tried everything from big bends nut sauce to 3in1 oil and I still find the old pro way of pencil lead works best for me. As others have said, Big Bends lasts a long time.
