I would prefer it being a little thicker to hold considering the large volume of each drawer. The other chest does has 2 of the five drawers that keep coming off the track because the side dimensions of the chest are wider at the bottom and the width of the drawer can't keep the track (which is mounted along the side at the bottom of the drawer) in the glider track on the inside of the chest. It took over 4 hours to build and there was quite a bit of swearing going on during that time. I finally realized that the sides of the chest were bowed out, and to far apart. I liked it so much I purchased 3 more matching pieces for a lower price on EBAY and did the same mods and now we have solid wood matching bedroom furniture to go with our new wood floor at a fantastic price.
