It appears I had been in the dark and not noticed that Yamaha just reintroduced it’s red label series... the FG5 is an aged Sitka over mahogany dread, ebony fretboard, made in Japan, and sounds great in a few online reviews. He said it all can make a guitar sound good, but he said my yamaha copy of a martin d28 sounds so good (its plywood), is that the brace and the sound board inside is solidly made. Would save me at least a few hundred bucks over something like a D-18 or J-45.
